Short-term rentals on Hilton Head Island have to follow the town's rules for noise, garbage and parking, and quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Parking, trash or noise problems can be reported through the town hotline at 843-341-6864 or by filing a complaint online. Park and beach recycling bins take bottles and cans only
Recycling bins in the island's public parks and at the beach are bottles and cans only. That covers plastic bottles, jugs and jars marked 1 or 2, glass bottles and jars of any color, and aluminum, tin and steel food and beverage cans. The Hilton Head Island Convenience Center sits at 26 Summit Drive off Dillon Road and is open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is closed Wednesday and on county holidays. Anyone may drop off eligible recyclables, but resident decals are required for non-recyclables and solid waste, and each household is allowed three visits per week.
